Sterling Silver Care

ADVICE ON PRESERVING STERLING SILVER

Wear or use it regularly. Silver looks best when it is worn often, a slight amount of tarnish actually accents the detail of the piece by adding a darker patina to the engraving and the top part is constantly polished by rubbing on your clothing. If it's not used, it tarnishes completely.

STERLING SILVER STORAGE:

When storing sterling silver items, place them in a clean, dry, air tight container to preserve the pieces. Air speeds up the tarnishing process.
Polish as needed. We sell polishing cloths. They are a simple, no mess way to to clean and polish your gold, silver, brass, copper, flatware, hardwood, and many other surfaces. If you use other polish, make sure it is formulated for sterling silver, and apply and buff with a soft cloth. Avoid chemical dips, as they strip and dull metal. A soft toothbrush may be used on textured silver to remove embedded grit, but avoid using a toothbrush on smooth silver, as it could scratch the surface.
